2,2′-Dithiobis(benzothiazole) (Rubber Accelerator MBTS / DM) (CAS: 120-78-5) can be used as accelerator for general rubber. It is also used as plasticizer in chloroprene rubbes. 2,2′-Dithiobis(benzothiazole) is a rubber chemical used as a vulcanization accelerant. 2,2′-Dithiobis(benzothiazole) is an accelerator for natural rubber, nitrile-butadiene, butyl and styrene-butadiene rubber; a retarder for chloroprene rubber.
Common use accelerator. Widely used in all kinds of rubber, and it is semi-speeding accelerator with medium safety burning performance. Use together with other accelerator, with good vulcanization, vulcanization colloidality is superior. It is mainly used to produce tires, inner tube, rubber belt, rubber shoes and other industrial products.
Used as a general accelerator for natural rubber, synthetic rubber and recycled rubber.
2,2′-Dithiobis(benzothiazole) gives moderate processing safety and moderately fast cures with flat plateau. The vulcanized characteristics are similar to those obtained with MBT. In fact, MBTS can be usually used when MBT is too scorch. Compounds cased on MBTS have slightly better aging and reversion resistance than corresponding ones based on sulfenamides. It can be boosted by use of secondary accelerators to achieve a faster cure and higher modulus.
