2,6-Dichloro-5-Fluoro-3-Pyridinecarbonitrile (CAS: 82671-02-1) is a pyridine derivative. It is a fluorinated heterocyclic building block used in chemical synthesis. It is an intermediate of Enoxacin (CAS: 74011-58-8). Enoxacin is a broad spectrum, quinolone-class, antibacterial agent used in the treatment of gastro enteritis including infectious diarrhea, respiratory tract infections, gonorrhea and urinary tract infections. It is a bactericidal and its mode of action depends on blocking of bacterial DNA replication by binding itself to an enzyme called DNA gyrase.
