Levetiracetam can be prepared by condensation of (S)-2-Aminobutyramide Hydrochloride (CAS 7682-20-4) with 4-Chlorobutyryl Chloride. Levetiracetam is a third-generation antiepileptic drug, used as adjunctive therapy in the treatment of partial onset seizures in adults and children 4 years of age and older with epilepsy.
