Pfizer's Paxlovid PF-07321332 is an oral antiviral therapeutic targeting the SARS-CoV-2 betacoronavirus to prevent COVID-19. Paxlovid is a protease inhibitor that has demonstrated potent in vitro antiviral activity against SARS-CoV-2 and other coronaviruses, suggesting potential for use in the treatment of COVID-19, as well as potential use against future virus threats, says Pfizer. Boceprevir (EBP 520) is a potent, highly selective, orally bioavailable HCV NS3 protease inhibitor with a Ki of 14 nM in both enzyme assay and an EC90 of 350 nM in cell-based replicon assay. Boceprevir inhibits SARS-CoV-2 3CLpro activity.
