N-Methyl-N-Nitroso-p-Toluenesulfonamide (Diazogen; Diazald) (CAS: 80-11-5) is Diazomethane precursor. Can be used for the production of diazomethane, its properties are significantly better than other nitroso compounds used for the preparation of diazomethane.

80-11-5 - Production Method:

N-Methyl-p-Toluenesulfonamide was dissolved in glacial acetic acid, cooled to 5℃, sodium nitrite aqueous solution was added dropwise, the reaction precipitated N-Methyl-N-Nitroso-p-Toluenesulfonamide as yellow. N-Methyl-p-Toluenesulfonamide is obtained from the reaction of p-Toluenesulfonyl Chloride with Methylamine.
