(R)-α,α-Diphenylprolinol is more pharmacologically active than its (S)-enatiomer. (R)-Diphenylprolinol can be used for the preparation of the corresponding oxazolidine borane, the compound can be used for borane-mediated asymmetric reduction of ketone.
