Methanesulfonic Anhydride (CAS: 7143-01-3) is the acid anhydride of Methanesulfonic Acid. Like Methanesulfonyl Chloride, it may be used to generate Mesylates (Methanesulfonyl Esters). Methanesulfonic Anhydride finds application in the reaction of aromatic alkylation. It reacts with dimethylsulfoxide to get sulfoxonium complex, which is a useful oxidizing agent. Used for organic synthesis.
