4 Test method
4.1 Appearance
Visual inspection.
4.2 Purity Determination
4.2.1 Reagents and materials
a) Nitrogen: the purity is not less than 99.9%, after purification treatment
b) Hydrogen: purity is not less than 99.9%, after purification treatment
C) Air: after purification treatment
4.2.2 Instruments and equipment
a) Gas chromatograph: sensitivity and stability meet the requirements of GB/T9722;
Detector: hydrogen flame ionization detector;
The color column is SE-54 with diameter of 30m*0.32mm*0.4μm.
b) Data processing: N2000 chemical workstation, using area normalization method to calculate the percentage of products.
c) 10μm sampler.
4.2.3 Operating conditions for gas chromatography
a) Gasification temperature: 250℃;
b) Detection temperature: 220℃;
c) Column temperature: 160℃;
d) Carrier gas pressure: 0.06MPa;
e) Hydrogen pressure: 0.1MPa;
f) Air pressure: 0.2MPa;
g) Sample injection volume: 0.2ul;

4.2.4 Measurement procedure
Under the above chromatographic conditions, 0.2ul samples were extracted with a 10ul sampler after the instrument was stabilized, and the chromatographic diagram was obtained. The purity of β-phenylethylamine was measured by area normalization method.
4.2.5 Allowed difference
The difference between the two parallel measurement results is no more than 0.25%, and the arithmetic mean value is taken as the measurement result.
4.3 Determination of net content allowance
According to JJF1070.
5 Testing Regulations
5.1 β-Phenethylamine must be inspected by the factory quality inspection department, and attached to the certificate before delivery.
5.2 One-kettle products shall be used as a batch, and each batch of products shall be no more than 1 ton
5.3 Sampling Method
Sample according to GB/T 6680-2003, the total amount of sample is not less than 50g.
5.4 During the inspection, if any item is unqualified, it is allowed to sample the double package of the product for reinspection. If there is still one unqualified index in the reinspection result, the batch of products will be judged as unqualified.

It is soluble in water, ethanol, and ether. Similar to other low-molecular-weight amines, it has a fishy odor. Upon exposure to air, it forms a solid carbonate salt with carbon dioxide. Phenethylamine is strongly basic and forms a stable crystalline hydrochloride salt with a melting point of 217 oC. Phenethylamine is also a skin irritant and possible sensitizer. Phenethylamine also has a constitutional isomer (+)-phenylethylamine (1-phenylethylamine), which has two stereoisomers: (R)-(+)-1-phenylethylamine and (S)-(-)-1-phenylethylamine.
