Amantadine Hydrochloride: A Dopamine Receptor Agonist and an Anti-Influenza A Virus Agent. Antivirals, belonging to narrow spectrum, only used for the prevention and treatment of influenza caused by A2 virus.The product prevents the virus from penetrating into the host cell, and affects the unhulling of the virus to inhibit the proliferation of the virus.It is used as an antitremor paralytic. It promotes dopamine release. It is also used as an antiparkinsonian agent, to treat extra pyramidal reactions, and for postherpetic neuralgia. It is also used an NMDA-receptor antagoinst. Production method and others: by amantadine into salt, refined.Adding amantadine in glass lining;Distilled water and activated carbon.Add hydrochloric acid, adjust to pH 3-5, heat to 70℃, dissolve and decolorize for half an hour, cool to room temperature, filter.The filtrate is pumped into a pressure-reduced concentration tank and condensed at (14.7kPa) to a porridge shape, cooled naturally and filtered.Add acetone to soak and wash to pH5, drain and dry at 70℃ to get amantadine hydrochloride.
